The Challenge

Transport for NSW engaged Servian to support their Data & Digital transformation journey. The Network Asset & Intelligence group required a centralised data platform where they could perform predictive analytics and analysis. They engaged Servian to strategically evaluate data platform options based both on internal capabilities as well as external offerings. Servian provided a recommendation on an architecture and capability roadmap that would meet the needs of the TfNSW group that was predominantly underpinned by AWS native services. The report was ultimately presented to executive leadership and paved the way for buy in to a large capex program transforming the whole-of TfNSW data platform capability.

Servian proceeded to implement the data lake and cloud data platform with a mixed co-located team of both Servian professionals and TfNSW staff (both technical and non-technical).  This approach drove cross collaboration and knowledge sharing to reduce dependencies on Servian consultants in the long term.  Servian also provided change leadership and advisory to develop new ways of working based on our Service Design framework, ensuring business adoption and advocacy
